East of Tipton just a couple miles on county road 250 east there used to be a big glass greenhouse. It was full of flowers and plants and the air inside smelled fresh. I remember the lady that lived there. She was a friend of my grandmother. One time we took a tour of her yard. There were even more flowers around the house and in the yard. She hasn’t lived in the house for several years now but there are still thousands of flowers. The beds need some weeding but it still smells good in spring.
The woods has trails through it and a couple sitting areas cleared for more spring enjoyment.
If you have horses the 50 by 72 barn is ideal. The majority of the barn has a dirt floor with one end concrete and a room enclosed that would make a great tack room. If you want extra land up to 20 acres could be purchased for an additional price.
The original house was built in 1876 but obviously has been majorly updated throughout the years. The heat system is an electric boiler with 3 zones. The exterior windows are vinyl and so is the siding. The roof is not very old and is dimensional shingles.
The floor plan is a little different than most houses. The man that lived here was an avid railroad collector with a couple special rooms that were full of train stuff. Those rooms would be excellent for a craft or sewing room, art studio, or if you have daughters like I do some great closets.
The kitchen is full of some really cool woodwork that goes clear to the 9 ft ceiling. It’s also open to the family room with a fantastic brick fireplace. There are 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, and a huge attached garage.
The house and five acres were appraised at $150,000 in 2015 and is priced as is for $130,000 for a quick sale
If you have looked at all, you know it’s hard to find something like this reasonably priced.
